Summer Pool Party

Keystone's Annual Pool Party is held every year at the El Cerrito Community Center in August. Keystone rents out the swimming pool at the El Cerrito pool; all the families are invited to join and swim together. We also hold a potluck dinner. This is a great time for families to get to know each other and have some fun outside of school.

Back to School Night - Pizza Party

Keystone holds a Back to School Night Pizza Party for the Keystone Families in each of our classes in October/November. At this event the director and head teacher of each of the classrooms provide a presentation/slideshow of what their children have been doing in their classrooms from the beginning of the year. This is also a time for staff to go over reminders, talk about upcoming events, and answer any questions that the parents might have. This event is a good introduction to the Montessori Philosophy and it is a lot of fun for families to have time to chat and mingle together.

Holiday Party

Keystone's Annual Holiday Party is held in December. Our music teacher, Jonathan Green, teaches the children holiday songs preparing them for our sing along at the event. After the sing along, we have a Marionettes show put on by the Walden Marionettes who are a father and son team who have been performing for Keystone for the past 20 years!

Spring Picnic

In May, we hold our Annual Spring Picnic at Arlington park where we BBQ and have a school wide potluck. At the park we typically have a soccer game set up, a scavenger hunt, mixers, and lots of delicious food. This is a fun time where families can get to know each other and have fun with their children.

Graduation Day

Every June we have the Snowy Egret class put on a Graduation Day Program where the children sing songs, play instruments, put on skits, and recite poetry. Our music teacher, Jonathan Green, along with the classroom teachers practice singing special songs and finger plays to prepare for this event. This is a huge accomplishment for the children. Many of the children in this classroom have been attending Keystone since they were 2 years old. This production is performed and recorded on Graduation Day and is available for all of the famlies to keep and cherish forever.
